Interfaith Action Gets Things Done!
Along with our partners - key funders, city & county agencies, non-profit organizations, elected officials, Neighbors Building Neighborhoods, 3 universities, and others - Interfaith Action has achieved the following:
- Agreement with Mayor Bill Johnson and County Executive Maggie Brooks to create a multi-million dollar Neighborhood Trust Fund
- $1.7 million pledged by Senator Joseph Robach to redevelop Historic Jones Square
- $8.4 million reconstruction of Chili Avenue completed by the City of Rochester with a citizen-inspired streetscape
- $600,000 in improvements to Sebastian Park pledged by State Assemblywoman Susan John, city officials & Edison Tech High School
- $420,000 invested in façade improvements & construction of a new parking lot on Chili Avenue by the City
- Over 210 homes built, upgraded or rehabbed for low-income families & seniors with various partners
- Citizen- and city-approved community development plans for Chili Avenue, Historic Jones Square & Sebastian Park
- Neighborhood clean-ups in Gateway, Edgerton and 19th Ward neighborhoods involving thousands of residents
- Citizen-created award-winning Peacemakers Community Garden
